Heavy Rain Continues In Mumbai and Suburbs;Powai Lake Overflows

Mumbai and its neighbouring districts like Thane, Raigarh, Colaba, Palghar, Ratnagiri, etc were hit by heavy rainfall for consecutively for the third day on Sunday.
Mumbai Police urged citizens to stay away from sea shores and waterlogged areas.
The BMC said that The Powai Lake started to overflow on Sunday Morning due downpour. The storage capacity of the lake is 545 crore litres and it's catchment area is 6.61 Sq km which flows from the Mithi river. Heavy Downpour has led to waterlogging at various in and across the City.
A rainfall of about 300mm was recorded on Sunday.
Indian Meterological Department has said that a lot of areas in the state(Maharashtra) might witness continuous rainfall for the next two days.
