A man from Madhya Pradesh- Sandeep Uike married two women at the same time in the same mandap on Wednesday. The wedding ceremony took place in the presence of the three families and villagers with all the rituals. The ceremony took place in Keria village under Ghodadongri block, about 40 km from Betul district headquarters.
He came in contact with the woman from Hoshangabad when he was studying in Bhopal. When their courtship was going on, Uike's family found a girl of their choice for his marriage. This led to dispute and the three families decided to approach the Panchayat to resolve it.
It was decided that if both the women were ready to live together with Uike, both of them should be married to him. The women agreed to this.
Mishrilal Parate, vice-president of Janpad Panchayat Ghodadongri and a witness to the marriage, said that the three families had no objection to the wedding and themselves decided to go ahead with it.
