| Rescue Operation is still going on |
On Monday a five storey building at Mahad in Raigad District suddenly collapsed killing atleast one person while 15 or so are seriously injured.The district officals claim that there are atleast more than 70 people are still trapped under the debris.
The incident took place at around 6:50 pm when all of a sudden the top three floors collapsed. Some Eyewitnesses say that the building was not more than 10 years old.
The building started shaking and the some residents were able to rush out before it started to Collapsed. Local rescue team including fire brigades and police were immediately rushed to the scene.
3 NDRF Team were sent for rescue. One of the official called it as 'pancake collapse' a term which is used when the fall happens from top to lower floors.
According to administration records, the building was a home to over 40 families. Hours before it collapsed, the building had started to shake and some families evacuated safety measures quickly.
