On Monday, the Udhaav Thackeray led government announced that from October Restaurants,Cafes and Bars can be reopened for indoor dining with safety precautions and with an occupancy of 50%. CM Uddhav Thackeray announced this during a meeting with Hoteliers on Monday.
Valsa Nair Singh, the state Tourism Secretary said "The chief minister has allowed restaurant, bars and cafes to reopen from the first week of October. The establishments have been asked to get ready and undertake refurbishments to reopen."
She added "The Hoteliers have agreed to to function as per standard operating procedure(SOP) that will be finalized within a day or two."
This move might save lifes of many people who are into hospitality sector as according to a data this sector gives employment to around 60 lakh people in Maharashtra. Kalathur Vishwnath Shetty president of MRKKU claimed that this sector has lost around Rs 18 Crore during Lockdown Period.
