| Virat Kohli after that winning shot |
Mumbai Skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field first. An opening 81 run stand between Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal in 9 overs gave Bangalore the much needed good start. After completing his fifty, Finch tried to go more aggressive and lost his wicket in that process scoring 52 of 35 balls.
Bangalore Skipper Virat Kohli has not had a great start with the bat just yet and failed again to put up some runs as he managed just 3 of 11 balls.
Then a solid 62 run partnership between Padikkal and AB de Villiers took place which was then followed a short Cameo of 27 runs of 10 balls from Shivam Dube as RCB finished with a score of 201/3.
Mumbai Indians didn't get a good start and within 7 overs had lost 3 wickets with the score at 39. After a while at the end of 12 overs Mumbai' score displayed 78/4.
Ishan Kishan was playing his first match of the season due to an Injury to Saurabh Tiwary. He was joined on the crease with MI's last hope Kieron Pollard.
What followed was a 119 run Partnership between the two of them as MI came closer to victory. With 5 runs needed of 2 balls, Ishan who had just got 2 sixes in a row decided to finish off in style but was caught out at the boundary at the score of 99. His valuable knock off just 58 balls with 2 fours and 9 sixes was yet not enough for the win.
Kieron Pollard faced the last ball and just fell short as he smashed a four to tie the game. He finished with a score of 60 in just 24 balls with 2 fours and 5 sixes. Mumbai finished with a score of 201/5
In the Super Over though, MI just managed 8 runs and lost the wicket of Pollard. RCB's batters Virat and AB showed their experience and kept their cool as Kohli slotted the ball for a four in the last ball to win the super over and the match for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
