Sumit Nagal Creates History, first Indian to win a main draw at Grand Slam

Sumit Nagal becomes the First Indian to win a main draw match in Grand Slam in 7 years as he defeated Bradley Klahn to advance to the second round of the US Open.

The First Time he had played in the grand slam was last year where he was defeated in the first round by one of the greats of the game Roger Federer. Despite losing that match he was praised by everyone including Federer himself as he said that Nagal could become India's best.

On Monday in the first round he defeated American Bradley Klahn 6-3,6-1,3-6,6-1 as the 23 year old went on to win the game.

Just as he had against Federer, Nagal played a beautiful game from the start and committed on only forceful error compared to Bradley 15 as the tally would soon read 17 to 40.

Nagal was steady consistent thoroughout the game on his serves and the serve in. On the second set Klahn scored only 3 points to Nagal Serve in and overall won 23 out of 87 serve from the Indian.

Nagal will know face Dominic Theim in second round who is currently on Rank 3 of player rankings this year.
