On Wednesday, Ex-CBI chief Ashwani Kumar was found hanging at his residence in Shimla, Mohit Chawla, SP Shimla said. The police have shifted the body to the Indira Gandhi Medical College(IMGC) for a post-mortem examination, and initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code at the Police Station East in Chhota Shimla.
As per reports, Ashwani Kumar was under depression for past some time. He was the Director of CBI(Central Bureau of Investigation) from 2008 to 2010. The 69-year-old was also the former Governor of Manipur and Nagaland and ex-DGP of Himachal Pradesh.
