Los Angeles Lakers win the NBA Championship

On Sunday, The Los Angeles Lakers equalled a record of 17 National Basketball Association (NBA) title with the Boston Celtics (for the most NBA Championships) when they Defeated Miami Heat by the score of 106-93 and won the series 4-2.

The victory for Lakers capped off an unprecedented season which resumed in July with no spectators due to the global pandemic Covid-19.

No surprises, the MVP of the Finals was LeBron James who lead the Lakers for a 17th Title by scoring 28 Points,14 rebounds and 10 assists in Game 6 in a stunning defensive performance from the team.

This was the Lakers's first NBA title since 2010. James who joined the Lakers in 2018 said he was happy and it meant a lot to represent this team. In an post match interview he said "I Told (Lakers President) Jeanie(Buss) when I came here that I was going to put this franchise back in the position where it belongs."

It also marked the end of a very personal and emotional season for the Lakers after club Legend and Basketball great Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash alongside his 13 year old daughter Gianna and 7 others near LA in January.
