The Bombay High Court made their decision at 3pm on November 9 and rejected Republic TV Editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami's plea for Bail in his connections to the abetment to suicide case of 2018.
The Court has also said that Goswami can now apply for Bail in sessions court which will have to be decided within 4 days. Earlier today Goswami had already filed for Bail in sessions court before the Alibaug Sessions Court.
"No Case is made out for release of the petitioner under extraordinary jurisdiction" said the High Court bench of Justice SS Shinde and MS Karnik.
Goswami along with the two other accused Feroze Shaikh and Neetish Sarda were arrested by Alibaug Police on November 4 in connections of suicide of interior designer Anvay Naik along with his mother in 2018 over alleged non payment of dues.
The High Court also rejected plea of bails for both Feroze Shaikh and Neetish Sarda. Similarly to Goswami they can also file a plea in lower court which can take a decision on merit without the influence of decision of High Court or their observations.
