Active COVID-19 Cases slip below 2 lakh mark for the first time in 7 months in India

 

For the first time in nearly 7 months and around 10 months since the Pandemic began, the active number of COVID-19 cases has fallen down below the 2 lakh mark.

Yesterday India Registered 13,823 new cases which took the total toll to 1,05,95,660. With the addition of 16,988 new recoveries, the recovery number increased to 1,02,45,741. Including the total number of deaths of 1,52,718 out of which 162 were Recorded yesterday, the active number of cases in India is now at 1,97,201.

Speaking on Global bases, around 9.6 Crore people have been infected by this virus and has resulted in the loss of 20.54 lakh deaths worldwide. USA continues to be the worst affected Country in the world with more than 2.4 Crore cases.

According to the reports of the World Health Organization (WHO) around 60 countries have now reported the new strain of COVID-19 that was originally reported in UK.10 more countries have been added in the last 7 days.
