Web Series Tandav's Director Ali Abbas Zafar apologises for hurting religious sentiment

 

On Monday Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar the director of Indian Web Series 'Tandav' has expressed and offered an apology for scenes that may have hurt the sentiment of many people. The series was resulted last week on the OTT Platform Amazon Prime Video.

According to reports the Information and Broadcast Ministry have now asked the Amazon Prime officals to clarify the allegations bestowed upon the web series regarding the religious sentiments.

Ali Abbas Zafar took to his Twitter account and wrote out a message. "The cast and crew did not have any intention to offend the sentiments of any individual,caste,community,race,religion or religious belief or outrage any institution, political party or a person,living or dead. The cast and crew of Tandav take cognizance of the concerns expressed by the people and unconditionally apologise if it has an unintentionally hurt anybody's sentiment."

Congress Leader Milind Deora said that he doesn't not believe in censorship but the OTT Platforms should conduct a regulations check of the content created.

He tweeted out "Though I oppose political censorship, to create a level playing field, OTT must be subject to the same regulation as TV broadcasters. Several countries are considering or already have similar rules. Keep GoI(Government of India) away by self regulating through an OTT Industry association?"
