With the colleges scheduled to reopen from today i.e 15th February,2021 in Maharashtra, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made an announcement in which they had stated that colleges in Mumbai will remain closed(online lectures will continue) till 22nd February,2021.
This decision has been taken with the view of recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the city and the state and also on the travel condition regarding the usage of Mumbai Local by students,teachers and non teaching staff during the peak hours.
In a notice Mumbai University announced "Colleges in Palghar and Raigad are set to re-open. However Mumbai is being cautious about the reopening of Colleges." They further said that a decision regarding this will be announced on February 22.
With this, Colleges which come under the Thane District (Urban and Rural) and covers areas like Mira-Bhayander, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan and Ulhasnagar will also remain closed.
