NMMC recommends cancellation of recognition of 5 private schools for depriving students of education due to pending fees

As the academic year gets underway, many schools and colleges have already started demanding huge sums of fees and have threatened to cancel the admission if failed to do so. Reacting to this, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), have recommended cancellation of recognition of five private schools who are depriving students of education because of pending fees.

According to reports, NMMC Commissioner Abhijit Bangar on Friday recommended the cancellation of four CBSE affiliated schools and one state board school.

The New Horizon Public School in Airoli, Terna Orchid International School in Sector 1 of Koparkhairane, Ryan International School in Sanpada and Amrita Vidyalaya in Nerul are the four CBSE based schools while the St Lawrence School in Vashi is affiliated with state board.

"Schools should not do anything that will harm students academics and give them any kind of mental trauma by asking for fees in front of other students or not allowing them to join online classes. By taking such steps we are ensuring that such incidents do not happen in the future" Bangar was quoted by The Indian Express.
