On Saturday December 11, a heritage Hublot watch belonging to late great Diego Maradona was recovered by Assam Police in coordination with Dubai agencies. One person named Wazid Hussein has been arrested.
"In an act of international cooperation, @assampolice has coordinated with @dubaipoliceHQ through Indian federal LEA to recover a heritage @Hublot watch belonging to legendary footballer Late Diego Maradona and arrested one Wazid Hussein. Follow up lawful action is being taken" tweeted Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

As per reports, the limited edition watch signed by Maradona was stolen by Wazid Hussein who had fled the state with it. Hussein used to work as a security guard at a premise in Dubai which Maradona used to visit when he was alive.
The watch has been priced at Rs 20 lakh.
Widely regarded as one of the all time great sports personality, Maradona passed away at the age of 60 at his home in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 25th November 2020.
