On Thursday, the Supreme Court sentenced Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu to one year of rigorous imprisonment in a three-decade-old age road rage case.
A Bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar and Sanjay Kishan Kaul delivered the order after allowing to review the plea filed by the family of the victim.
This case has gone through Session Court, High Court and Supreme Court.
- In December 1988, Sindhu alleged got into a heated exchange with the victim Gurnam Singh. Sindhu would allegedly beat Singh on the head leading to his death.
"Supreme Court has delivered justice today. The victim family had been demanding justice for many years," Sukhbir Singh Badal, President of Shiromani Akali Dal reacted.
