CBI raids Delhi Deputy CM Sisodia's house, summons him tomorrow.

After conducting a raid at Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's house on Sunday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned him to join the investigation at 11 am on Monday at their Delhi headquarters.

The AAP leader is one of 15 people and entities named in a CBI FIR regarding alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Delhi government's Excise Policy 2021-22.

CBI raided my house for 14 hours. My bank locker was searched, they did not find anything. They did not find anything in my village either. Now they have called me to the CBI headquarters at 11 am tomorrow. I will go and cooperate fully. Satyamev Jayate,” Sisodia tweeted on Sunday.

The CBI has so far arrested three people: Sameer Mahendru, managing director of Indospirit Group; Vijay Nair, former CEO of entertainment and event management company Only Much Louder; and Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally, current communications in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Boinpally is not named as an accused in the CBI FIR, but his alleged associate Arun Ramchandra Pillai is.

The FIR was filed on August 17 after Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena recommended a CBI investigation into the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22, putting Sisodia, in charge of the excise department, directly in the crosshairs. Following this, the Delhi government announced the policy's withdrawal. The Lt Governor's recommendation came after Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar submitted a report. The report, which was submitted on July 8, according to officials, claimed that liquor vend licensees received improper benefits.
