Counter Intelligence Jalandhar has busted an ISI-backed espionage ring and apprehended a key operative identified as Sukhwinder Singh, also known as Sukha, a resident of Ferozepur. China-made solar CCTV equipment fitted with 4G connectivity was recovered from Kapurthala in connection with the case on April 30, 2026.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused, along with his associates, had been installing solar-powered CCTV cameras at various sensitive locations, including establishments linked to the Army. The footage was being transmitted live to Pakistan-based handlers through mobile applications.

An FIR has been registered at PS State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar. Further investigation is underway to trace forward and backward linkages and identify other members of the module.
