A 12 year old boy committed suicide after his mother reportedly scolded him for playing Video Games and took away his mobile phone. Mohammed Ali Khan, son of a restaurant owner, was found hanging at his three storey residence at Shivaji Nagar on Monday, police said. An Accidental death has been registered in the matter, they added.
According to Inspector Kishore Gayke of Shivaji Nagar police station, around 1pm on Monday, Mohammad's mother, Niloufer, asked him to keep the phone aside. When the Class 6 student did not, she reportedly scolded him and pulled the phone out of his hand, Gayke said.
Upset, the boy reportedly went to his bedroom on the third floor of the building, police said. When the boy did not open the door for A long time, the family members broke open the door and dashed him to Rajawadi hospital in Ghatkopar where he was declared dead in arrival.
Police have not recovered any suicide note. Imran the Boy's father, in his statement said they did not suspect any foul play in the matter.
