Amarnath Yatra Cancelled for 2020

                                            



With the country, recording more than 37,000 new COVID-19 cases for a 5th day running, The Amarnath Yatra has been cancelled this year on Tuesday through a statement issued by Raj Bhavan.

The statement said that the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) has decided with heavy hearts that it is not advisable to hold and conduct this year's Amarnath Yatra and expressed its regret while announcing the cancellation of the same.

"The Board is aware of and respects the sentiments of millions of devotees. To keep the religious sentiments alive, The Board shall conduct live telecast/Virtual Darshan of morning and evening aartis. Further the traditional rituals shall be carried out as per last practice.Also the Chaddi Mubarak shall be facilitated by the Government." the statement read.

The Yatra had already been shortened of it's usual 45 days and was supposed to start on 21st July,2020 and to be concluded on 3rd August,2020 but now it has been completely cancelled for the betterment of people.
