AIIMS Issues Guidelines for Senior Citizens

                                             
Elderly have the highest risk of this virus

Legendary Actor Amitabh Bachchan has been admitted to hospital due to being positive of COVID-19. Despite being the asymptomatic,he has been admitted to the hospital due to his age of 77.
COVID-19 is already dangerous to people who have other major disease like diabetes, Asthma etc and Senior Citizens. Once the body starts ageing the immunity level starts to decrease and becomes weak and that's why elder people face many diseases. With COVID-19 literally destroying the body from inside, the senior citizens have been advised again and again to stay careful as their body might not be able to resist long unlike youth people.
AIIMS's(All India Institute of Medical Science) Geriatric Department have issued guidelines for the elderly people. The following has also been issued by the Union Ministry of Social Empowerment. Dr Vijay Gurjar of the AIIMS's Geriatric Department says that the major problem of the elderly is that with age, they get many age related diseases. At this age Asthma,COPD, Respiratory disease,Heart Failure, Kidney, Liver,Stroke become common.

To protect the elderly the new guidelines are divided into sub guidelines

1) If You Are Alone

-> Seek Help from Neighbor for Essential Items

-> Avoid Any Kind of Community Meeting

->Keep Yourself Physically Active at Home.Do Yoga,Walk in the home for some times instead of going out

2) Take Care of your Diet

-> The Elderly should eat home made food,Do not starve for too long,Eat a little to three to four times.

->Most Importantly Drink Plenty of Water

-> According to guidelines, Those who have kidney or heart disease, should drink water on advice from their Doctor.Sometimes too much water can also become harmful.
