India Continues to set unwanted records of the global pandemic CoronaVirus as a record of highest single day spike on Thursday was seen with 26,506 new cases. With that the tally reached 7,93,802 cases. Thursday saw 475 deaths across the country taking the death toll to 21,604.The number of active cases in the country now stand at 2,76,685. Around 4,95,913 have been cured with the recovery rate now at 62.4 per cent.
Maharashtra still has the most number of cases with 2,30,599 cases. Around 1,27,259 have recovered in the state and 9,667 people lost their lives.Active cases in the state stand at 93,673.
Mumbai saw 1,282 new cases and 68 deaths in Thursday taking the tally to 88,975 and 5,129 respectively. The recovery rate in the city stands at 67 per cent with 59,751 recoveries out of which 513 recovered yesterday. Active cases in Mumbai have now reached 23,915. Some health experts believe that the peak might have passed Mumbai but it is still to soon to confirm that.
Mira Bhayander reported 185 news cases as the number reached near 5000 mark with 4,993 cases and observed 2 deaths on Thursday taking the tally to 178. The recovery rate in the township has been good and Thursday saw further improvement with 160 recoveries taking the tally to 3,629. The active cases in the township now stand at 1,186.
