Fresh cases breached the 19,000-mark once again with 19,148 patients testing positive for the virus, taking India's caseload to 6,04,641. India’s cumulative death toll has risen to 17,834. On the positive side, 3,59,860 people have recovered from the virus.
Maharashtra Figures at 1,80,298 on Wednesday with addition of 5,537 new patients while the death toll mounted by 198 to 8,053, state health department said.
Mumbai Saw 1,511 new cases on Wednesday taking its tally to 78,708 cases. The only sigh of relief for Mumbai was that Wednesday saw only 6 deaths taking the death toll to 4,629.
The satellite township of Mira Bhayandar continued to report a high number of COVID-19 cases as 112 more people tested positive for the virus on Wednesday. However, there was no death reported due to the viral infection.
Though the number of daily positive cases has remained high in the MBMC area since the past one month, a large number of patients have also been cured and discharged after treatment. 2498 persons have been discharged so far, out of which 134 were on Wednesday itself. 
The number of cases in this township stands at 3,438 with 725 active cases and 2,498 recoveries.
