| Despite Lockdown in some regions the number of cases keep on rising on an alarming rate |
India's COVID-19 tally crossed the 11 lakh mark when 40,425 cases, another record day spike was recorded on Sunday. The death toll has gone up to 27,497 deaths with 681 Fatalities recorded on Sunday. The recovery number crossed the 7 lakh mark as well which is the only good sign so far. More than 3,90,000 cases are active in the country now. Maharashtra Recorded 9,518 cases on Sunday the highest the state has seen as it continues to be the worst hit state in the country with more than 3 lakh cases.
Mumbai reported 1,046 new cases and 1,193 new Recoveries on Sunday to take the tally to 1,01,224 cases and 71,685 recoveries respectively. The city also reported 64 deaths to take the death toll to 5,711 death. The active cases in the city now stand at 23,828.
