India’s Covid 19 cases crossed the 7 lakh-mark on Tuesday with 22,252 new cases and 467 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total positive cases stand at 7,19,665 including 20,160 deaths, 2,59,557 active cases, and 4,39,948 people have been treated and discharged so far, according to the Ministry of Health. The country has now overtaken Russia to become the third worst hit nation in the world, only after US and Brazil.
After recording more than 6,000 new Covid-19 cases for the last four days, with the highest detected on July 4 at 7,074, Maharashtra recorded a slight dip in the number of fresh infections on Monday. With 5,368 cases reported, the total infection count in the state now stands at 2,11,987. Health officials attributed the fall to an overall dip in testing numbers usually observed during weekends. With 204 deaths registered on Monday, 9,026 people have died due to the virus in the state.
Mumbai saw 1,201 new cases and 39 deaths on Monday taking the toll to 85,326 and 4,935 respectively.Mumbai also saw 1,269 recoveries and now have 57,152 patients recovered.The Active Cases now stand at 23,329 now.Mumbai has now registrated a 67 per cent recovery rate.
Mira Bhayander saw 157 new cases on Monday, literally half the number of cases as seen on Sunday with 303, and 6 deaths on Monday. The Township also saw 143 recoveries on Monday. This region has one of the best Recoveries in entire Maharashtra.The Total number of cases has now reached 4,471 and 3,214 recoveries.The Active Cases Stand at 1,089 now.
