Juventus take a step closer to the Series A Crown

After already losing to Lazio twice this season, Ronaldo's brace ensured that they won't lose for a 3rd time

On Monday, Juventus took a giant step to their 9th Consecutive Serie A Title with a 2-1 win against Lazio. Before the Lockdown the gap between this two was of 1 point but since the post Lockdown it has gone downhill for Lazio who are now 11 behind Juventus and have slipped up their chance to end Juve reign of Champions.

Going into Monday, Lazio knew a win was the only thing they needed to keep a slim hope of Title Race alive. Both sides started strong but couldn't find a break through in the first half. The game got pace in the second Half when Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in 10 minutes of the second half, one from the penalty spot to give Juventus a 2-0 lead. Juventus were the better team but they had to endure a sweat in the last 30 minutes including a penalty by Ciro Immobile whose penalty in the 83rd minute made it 2-1. Juventus would go on hang on to that Result.

With just 4 games remaining now and depending on other resultes, The Old Lady will clinch their 9th Consecutive Scedutto on Thursday when they travel to Udinese.

Meanwhile in England, Wolves climbed up to 6th one point ahead of Tottenham, in the European Spot with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace and will get a European Spot next season if they beat Chelsea on the final day away at Stamford Bridge. Spurs will need to win their last match against Palace and hope for a favour from Chelsea if they were to finish 6th.
