On Thursday in Ambravati District, A Lab Technician has been arrested on the account of rape when he took sample of vaginal swab from a woman for the testing of coronavirus. Vaginal Swabs are not taken for Coronavirus tests.
The woman who complained works at a mall in Badnera town. One of her colleague had tested positive for COVID 19 and so she also did her test to find out. 25 employees were taken for the test and after collecting 25 nasal swabs, the technician allegedly took a vaginal swab of her.
The accused has been arrested after the complained was launched under Section 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and Section 376 ( Rape).
Following his arrest, Woman and Child Development Minister Yashomati Thakur said strict action will be taken against the accuse.
