Maharashtra Government reduces syllabus for Classes I to XII by 25%

On Saturday, the Maharashtra Government reduced the syllabus of Class I to XII to lower the burden of studies on Students by 25% for the academic year 2020-2021. After CBSE, ICSE and other state boards decided to do so, The Maharashtra Government followed the same move.

In a video posted on Twitter, by Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said "Against the backdrop of the Covid-19 Pandemic,the proposal sent by the Maharashtra State Council for Educational research and Training to reduce the syllabus for Classes 1 to 12 for the academic year 2020-21 has been approved by the government."

Gaikwad said that the detail of the lessons been omitted have been uploaded on the website of MSCERT. 

A total of 101 chapters have been omitted this year. 22 in Primary (Class 1 to Class 5), 20 in Secondary (Class 6 to Class 10) and 59 in Higher Secondary (Class 11 and Class 12) in all subjects have been omitted.
