On Monday, the ICC (International Cricket Council) postponed the upcoming tournament which was to be held in November in Australia owing to the widespread of COVID-19.
The ICC is yet to decide whether India and Australia will swap the 2021 and 2022 edition between them,both of which is scheduled to take place in October-November.
"The International Cricket Council (ICC) today confirmed the ICC men's T20 World Cup in Australia 2020 has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic" said ICC in an official statement.
This has now opened up a way for BCCI( Board of Control for Cricket in India) to organise the 13th Edition of IPL( Indian Premier League) in October-November window.
