Kalam Sir was born on 15th October,1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. He studied Physics and aerospace engineering. He spent 40 years as an administrator at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He was given the name of Missile Man of India. He would later go on to become the 11th President of India between 2002-2007.
Kalam was transferred to ISRO in 1969 where he was appointed in the project of India's first satellite Launch Vehicle(SLV-III) which successfully deployed the Rohini Satellite in near Earth orbit in the 1980.
Kalam also had an interest in Writing and was wrote several books and biographies. Some of this famous works include

For his Noble work for the country towards Science and Research, Kalam Sahab won many awards and accloades. He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 1981 and Padma Vibhushan in 1990. In 1997 he received the highest civilian award "Bharat Ratna".
On 27th July,2015 he was giving a lecture on "Creating a Livable Planet Earth" at Indian Institution of Management Shillong when he suddenly collapsed and was taken to a hospital. After being one hour in ICU, Kalam passed away at 7:45 pm due to cardiac arrest. Over 4 lakh people attended his last rituals including PM Narendra Modi and other big politicians.
He was truly an inspiration to the future generations and his works will never be forgotten. He is a true IMMORTAL as he will forever live on in the hearts of people.
