In the wake of the deadly blast in Lebanese city of Beirut that claimed the lives of over 100 people, the customs department has asked the Chennai explosive material lying in their warehouse to meet safety and fire standards and pose no danger to People's lives.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has also issued a similar instruction to all its field offices across the country and given them deadline of 48 hours.
