Air Marshal V.R Chaudhari Takes Over As The New WAC chief.


Amid the ongoing military confrontation with China, there has been a change of guard at the critical Western Air Command (WAC), which stretches from Bikaner to Ladakh.
WC chief Air Marshal B. Suresh was commissioned as a fighter pilot in IAF in 1980 and went on to serve in critical posts, took retirement after a career spanning almost 40 years on Friday.

Air Marshal V.R. Chaudhari has taken over as the new WAC chief on Saturday. The WAC is the most important of the Indian Air Force’s five operational commands, controlling important airbases like Srinagar, Leh, Thois, Awantipur, Ambala, Amritsar, Halwara, Bikaner, Nal and Udhampur among others on the fronts with China and Pakistan.
