Bayern Munchen beat Lyon to Reach Champions League Final

 

Serge Gnabry becomes the fourth player in this season's Competition to have a 10+ goal involvement behind Lewandowski,Haaland and Mbappe

With PSG securing their place in the final on Tuesday, it was to be seen who would join them in the final showpiece. Bayern Munchen were the heavy favourites to go through when they faced but they knew nothing can be taken for granted against a side who knocked out Juventus and Man City in the knockout round.

Lyon surprisingly made a bright start and went close in the 4th minute when Captain Memphis Depay was played through on goal. He rounded off Bayern Keeper Neuer but slided his effort wide of the post as Bayern were left of the hook.

Lyon had another great chance in the 17th minute when Toko Ekambi's low shot hit the post. Just a minute later in the 18th minute, Serge Gnabry made a splendid Run, getting past 4 defenders and curling his effort in the top left corner from the edge of the box to Give Bayern the lead.

He would add another goal in the 33rd minute to put Bayern 2-0 up, when Lewandowski's effort fall Straight into his path as he tapped it in and almost ending the chances of Lyon.

Robert Lewandowski scored his 55th goal of this incredible season in the 88th minute to put through a header from Kimmich's free kick to make it 3-0 for Bayern as they ease past Lyon in the Semis.

The Final will be played on Sunday, August 23. Both teams have already won their domestic League and Cup and will be aiming for the Treble. Bayern would be aiming to become the second side after Barcelona to win 2 trebles(2008-09,2014-15) after they won it in 2012-13 season.
