Robert Lewandowski is a man on fire

With the return of the champions league on Friday, the final two spots in the quarter finals were still to be decided. Bayern Munchen were in the best spot to qualify as the had won the first leg against Chelsea 3-0 in London. Meanwhile Barcelona and Napoli were stallmate at 1-1 with that draw in Italy in February.

Chelsea if they were to qualify had to make the mother of comebacks to progress through against the German Champions in Munich who were aiming for the treble. Chelsea's last visit at Allianz Arena was a memorable one as they defeated Bayern in the 2012 Final. Bayern started the match were they left as they opened the scoring inside 10 minutes thanks to the man who has been on Fire this season Robert Lewandowski. He converted from the penalty spot to give them a 1-0 lead and ended any hope of a Chelsea comeback. He would later go on to assist two and score one more as Bayern beat Chelsea 4-1 on the night and 7-1 on aggregate. Lewandowski had a hand in every Bayern goal against Chelsea scoring three and assisting four.

Barcelona domestic season was a pretty bad since the restart as they lost the title to arch rivals Real Madrid. Their season was hoping on the UEFA Champions league. With a 1-1 draw with Napoli, Fans were nervous as Barcelona had lost a 3 goal lead from the first leg against Roma and Liverpool. There was no such Drama this time. They went into the lead inside 10 minutes through Lenglet. Lionel Messi scored a brillant indiviual goal worthy of the Puskas award and saw one of his goal disallowed. Suarez scored from the spot in first half injury time. Napoli pulled one back in injury time as well from the spot to make it 3-1 but there were no further goals in the second half.

Barcelona will now face Bayern in the quarter finals and few predict that the winner of this tie can go on to win the competition so it will be interesting to see how it goes down in Portugal.
