| RB Leipzig were left frustrated by PSG |
The Semi Finals of the Champions League finally arrived when PSG took on RB Leipzig on Tuesday in Lisbon. This was just the second time PSG have have been in the Semi Final and for the first time since their takeover in 2011. RB Leipzig were playing their 2nd ever season in Champions League.
It was guarantee that the winner of this match will play their first ever final. Good news for PSG was that Kylian Mbappe was fully fit to start the matchup and his cameo against Atalanta was a crucial one.
PSG were offcourse the favorites in this matchup but one legged ties can go either way as we saw in the match between Leipzig and Atletico and Lyon vs Man City.
PSG started off start and went close inside 6 minutes when Neymar hitted the post after been played through by Mbappe. The Brazilian had struggled to score chances against Atalanta and it was seen again.
But the star of the match turned out to be Angel Di Maria. He was the star man in the 2014 Final for Real Against Atletico and proved his value again. He settled up Marquinhos from a free kick and a great header from the Brazilian made it 1-0 for the Parisians.
He himself got the second goal in the 42nd minute when a mistake at the back allowed Neymar to set him up and Di Maria mad no mistake as he cooly slottled his effort to make it 2-0 before Half Time.
Di Maria assisted Juan Bernat in the 56th minute to put the game beyond bed for Leipzig. The score finished 3-0 to PSG who Advance through to the final. RB Leipzig were just not good to handle them but can look back at a memorable campaign.
Paris Saint Germain will now face the winner of the matchup between Lyon and in form Bayern Munchen.
