Tunnel Damage due to Rains,disrupts movement of Trains

With the damage of rains in Maharashtra continues, a tunnel has collapsed of the Prenem Tunnel which lies ahead of Madgaon on the single line near Karwar section of Konkan Railway.

The wall which is 10 metre long of the tunnel which runs 1.5 km long cracked down after showing cracks due to the heavy rainfall. The tunnel was supposed to have been built in 1998 and collapsed on 6th August.

Around 8 trains have been from Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam has been directed to Pune-Miraj to reach Madgaon and then head further South.
