The last two matches of Gameweek 2 in Premier League was played on Monday as Aston Villa hosted Sheffield United before the final action saw Wolverhampton Wanderers host Manchester City.
Sheffield United had lost the first game of the season Against Wolves and faced off Against Aston Villa who somehow miraculously survived last season. This was Villa's first game of the season.
Sheffield didn't make a good start as Captain John Egan was sent off in the 12th minute and they had to play the remaining 78 minutes a man short. Things become worse as John Lundstorm missed a penalty in the 36th minute.
Aston Villa took their chances in the second half as Erzi Konsa's goal assisted by Tyrone Mings helped Villa to win 1-0 and get them a good start in the season.
The second match of the night saw Wolves take on City. Last season Wolves did the double over City in a season which saw City surrender their title to Liverpool by 18 points. Wolves won their first game 2-0 away at Sheffield. City were hoping to become the first team to win their first game of the season for a 10th consecutive season.
City started of well and earned a Penalty after Kevin De Bruyne was fouled in the box by Saiss. The PFA Player of the year made no mistake as he slotted the ball home to give City the lead. Phil Foden had been on the news headlines for all wrong reasons in recent weeks but this time he was on the headline for the right reasons as he cooly placed Sterling's pass to double the lead for the Citizens.
Wolves played good in the second half and gave City a a scare as Raul Jimenez headed a ball in the 78th minute. City killed off the game in the 5th minute of injury time when Gabriel Jesus smashed home to make it 3-1 as De Bruyne picked up the assist.
