Swedish Tennis and World's No 1 player Novak Djokovic was Disqualified from his fourth round match against Spain's Carreno Busta after he inadvertently hit the line judge with a ball in reaction losing a point to Busta.
This action brought an end to an 29 match winning streak in a bid for an 18th Grand Slam Title. After 10 minutes of discussion with senior referees and judges, he was Disqualified from the match and the match would go Carreno Busta.
The US Tennis Association (USTA) issued a statement saying that Friemel(Line Judge) defaulted Djokovic "in accordance with the Grand Slam Rule-Book,following his actions of intentionally hitting a ball dangerously or recklessly within the court or hitting a ball with negligent disregard of the consequences."
Hours Later leaving the ground, Novak Djokovic would latter take to his Instagram and apologize for his actions for inadvertently hitting the line Judge.
