The 3rd match of the Dream 11 IPL Season 13 saw another rollercoaster of a match as Royal Challengers Bangalore Defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 10 runs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and decided to field due to dew factor which mostly favors the side that bat second. Hyderabad had both David Warner and Johnny Bairstow back in their eleven as Bangalore had the likes to Dale Steyn, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli in their eleven.
Royal Challengers Bangalore got off to a great start as openers Aaron Finch and debutant Devdutt Padikkal shared a 90 run opening partnership in just 10 overs with Padikkal scoring 56 runs of 42 balls with 8 fours.
As we had seen yesterday, 2 balls can change the game. The same thing happened again today. The last ball of 11th over and the first ball of the 12th over saw both Openers fell down. With 11.1 overs bowled RCB were 90/2 with both Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers yet to face a ball.
Virat Kohli was not able to contribute much as we managed only 14 of 13 balls and was caughted out at with RCB score as 121/3. Also known as Mr 360, De Villiers smashed 51 Runs of just 30 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. With his innings RCB managed to put up 163/5 at the end of 20 overs. At the moment it seemed like they fell 20-25 runs short after the great start they had.
Unlike Bangalore, Hyderabad didn't get to a good start as a miscommunication between Warner and Bairstow saw Warner runner out as the scoreboard displayed 18/1. Then a solid 71 run stand Manish Pandey and Johnny Bairstow took the score to 89/1 after which caughted out by Chahal.
The twist of the game when Sunrisers lost Bairstow after his splendid knock of 61 runs of 43 deliveries. The next ball they lost Vijay Shankar as he got a golden duck and all of a sudden the score went from 121/2 to 121/4.
A dramatic collapse was on the card. SRH lost their last 6 wickets for just 32 runs as they succumbed to a score of 153, leaving RCB the victors by 10 runs. This is the first time since 2016 that RCB had made a winning start to the tournament.
