 After having forced the ALCS to a Game 5 by beating the Rays 4-3 in Game 4, The Astros won Game 5 by the same score to force a Game 6 and make the series 2-3 and still have a chance of a miraculous comeback.

In this ALCS, the Astros had made a habit of hitting a home run in the first innings. This time again they hit a home run in the bottom of the 1st inning. This time it was George Springer who slammed home a lead off home run at the very first pitch of the innings to make it 1-0 for the Astros.

Astros gave start to young pitcher Luis Garcia. He only pitched 2 innings but didn't give away a run and escaped bases loaded in the top of the 2nd to presume the Astros lead.

Brandon Lowe was somehow who was relatively quite in the season for the Rays. This time he levelled the score in the top of the 3rd innings with a solo home run to make it 1-1 with this being his first home run of the post season.

The Astros then took the lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning through a 2 run RBI single from left fielder Micheal Brantley to jump on the board to lead it at 3-1.

Someone who has been in a red hot form this postseason for the Rays is the rookie Randy Arozarena. He hitted a home run again, his 6th of the postseason to make it 2-3 for the Tampa Bay Rays in the top of the 5th inning.

The Rays would go on the level the score in the top of the 8th innings thanks to a solo home from Ji-Man Choi. This was his second HR  of the postseason.

With the scores tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the 9th innings, Carlos Correa won the game for the Astros with a solo walk off home run to make it 4-3 for the Astros as they won game 5.
