Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets

Kohli and Padikkal shared a 99 run partnership for the second wicket

The first double header of the season saw Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets in a pretty comfortable performance for them. With this win Bangalore moved top of the table with 3 wins out of the 4 games.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to bat first. Having lost the last game to Bangalore due to a poor batting performance after an enormous comeback, RR needed to prove their critics wrong.

But Virat Kohli and his co had different plans.RR lost 3 main wickets of Steve Smith,Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler within 5 overs at the score of 31/3 and never really looked great in the middle of the crease.

Mahipal Lomror played a well knock of 47 runs in his debut game and a little contribute from Rahul Tewatia took the score to 154/6 in 20 overs. The Royals knew that they were 15-20 run short of a defendable target.

Despite losing Aaron Finch early, Bangalore kept their nerve as Devdutt Padikkal showed his impressive form again with 63 runs of 45 balls. However the highlight of the match was stolen by Virat Kohli.

The Bangalore and Indian Captain didn't had a great start with the bat in this tournament. He didn't hesitate today though. He took his time and scored a brilliant unbeaten 72 off 53 balls including 7 fours and 2 sixes as RCB eased through the target and scored 158/2 in 19.1 overs with 5 balls to spare.
