After a crazy and action packed entertainment of football on Saturday, there was less action on Sunday with the Champions League 2020-21 Group Stage to kick off from Tuesday, October 20.

The Major Headline fixture of Sunday was when Tottenham Hotspurs took on West Ham United with Gareth Bale fit to feature again for Spurs. He was not fully fit and has to start on the bench.

Spurs came into this match having thrashed Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford two weeks ago and were trying to become genuine title challengers this season. Meanwhile West Ham United got the better of Leicester City in their previous outing and were looking to make it 2 wins on a bounce.

Tottenham made the perfect start they could have hoped for when the took the lead inside the very first minute through South Korean star Son Heung Min.This was the 6th time he was assisted by Harry Kane this season. He returned the favour to Kane in the 8th minute as Spurs went 2-0 up.

It looked like the game was over before it even got started when new Signing Sergie Regulion provided Harry Kane with an assist as he nodded home a simple header to make it 3-0 inside 16 minutes.Spurs had more opportunities but failed to score as Fabianski made a couple of saves.

With 18 minutes left to play, Gareth Bale returned to play for Tottenham Hotspurs for the first time in 7 years. He though didn't have a return he was expecting.

With just 8 minutes left on the clock, West Ham pulled a goal back through a header from Fabian Balbuena from a set piece delivery by Aaron Cresswell. Just 3 minutes later West Ham were back in the game after a poor mistake from Spurs defender Sanchez resulted in an own goal to make it 3-2 in the 85th minute.

Gareth Bale perhaps had the best chance of the game to seal it in the 90th minute when he dribbled to 3 defender only to slam his shot wide off the target. Had that gone in the score would have been 4-2 and Spurs might have not faced the heartbreak they were about to face.

West Ham won another free kick. This time Spurs cleared it but not far away as the ball came near Manuel Lanzini as he thumped his right foot across the goal from 25 yards out as his shot got a slight touch from Spurs keeper Lloris and hit the crossbar and went in to make it 3-3 and rescue a point in the 94th minute of the game.

Spurs will now turn their attention towards the Europa League Campaign when they face Austrian side LASK in the first match of the group stage.
