After France and Germany, England also announces Lockdown

Prime Minister of UK Boris Johnson

Just 2 days after the leaders of France and Germany announced a month Lockdown, England's Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that England will also undergone a second lockdown till 2nd December.

In this lockdown, the pubs, restaurants, gyms and non Essential shops will be closed for four weeks. Same as France and Germany, the schools and colleges and universities will however be open and will operate according to regular timetable.

With Christmas just a month away he in his press conference said "Christmas is going to be different this year, perhaps very different, but it's my sincere hope and belief that by taking tough action now we can allow families across the country to be together(at Christmas)".

He even expressed his grief towards the impact the lockdown will have on business but believes this is the only way until a vaccine arrives to survive the widespread of Covid-19.

When asked about whether sporting activity will continue to take place, he gave a thumbs up and gave a sigh of relief for sports fans as England's top flight football will continue as it is.

Currently England sit at 9th position on WorldoMeter with around 1,001,660 total cases. Johnson though warned the nation that if the number of cases is not in control till 2nd December, then they will be left with no other alternative but to extend the lockdown.
