State Education Minister Varsha Gaikward said on the upcoming examinations that it is not possible in Maharashtra to held exams of Classes 10th and Classes 12th before May, as the fear of second wave looms over the minds of everyone.
She even said that Maharashtra is ready to reopen Schools and Colleges for Class 9 to Class 12 immediately after the Diwali Vacation. She added that their aim is to open schools and colleges for older students first so that the board examination along with the academic year does not face any delay.
Furthermore speaking upon the pandemic, she added that the government doesn't want to rush in and open schools and then immediately shut them down if the cases rise again. She has optioned for a more staggered method of reopening of schools than some other states but says that the final decision will be taken by Chief Minister Udhaav Thackeray himself.
