Mr. & Mrs. '55 is a 1955 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film, directed & produced by Superstar Guru Dutt. The Film stars Guru Dutt alongside Madhubala, supported by Lalita Pawar, Johnny Walker and Jagdeep & Yasmin in this socially critical film set in contemporary Bombay. The film's music is by O. P. Nayyar, with lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri.
Brief Synopsis:
Seeta Devi(Lalita Pawar), a feminist, arranges a sham marriage for her niece Anita(Madhubala), in order to help her restore her freedom. However, in the process, Anita learns the true meaning of marriage. Thereafter Innocent loves grows between Anita & Preetam(Guru Dutt).
