On Saturday,Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video conference with the graduating Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Students of Delhi. In this conversation he said urged the students to contribute their success to the "AtmaNirbhar Bharat"(Self Reliant India) campaign and that technology and innovation will play a major role in the post Covid world.
In his address he said "The Post Covid-19 world is going to be very different and technology has to play a major role in it. Covid-19 has changed the way things are being conducted today. Virtual Reality and Argumented Reality are becoming the working reality now."
He asked the students to work and find solutions to India's existing problems. "Indians have immense faith in the need of technology. There are immense possibilities for you in the country and also there are immense challenges confronting the country for which you can give solutions."
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank was the guest of honour at the event. He congratulated IIT Delhi for completing 60 years. He like PM Modi asked the students to contribute their work towards the development of the country. He also launched online certificate programme called "eVIDYA" under which the Institute will offer online certificate courses in areas like cyber-physical system, security renewable energy storage, machine learning etc.
