According to India's National Center of Seimsology, the epicenter of the earthquake was around 48 KMS away from Delhi in the southwest part of Haryana. The earthquake strucked at 11:46 pm with a depth of 7.5 km from the surface.
Though fortunately there were no immediate reports of life or property damage, the tremors that were felt for a few seconds were strong enough for major destruction.
The Experts have said that if an earthquake of 6 magnitude is ever experienced in Delhi then structures which do not follow safety norms are likely to get demolished.
