Having a birthday at the end of year can be something interesting right? Like how many people can celebrate their birthday and New Year at the same night?? There are few and one of this few people is the Legendary Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson CBE also known as Sir Alex or Alex Ferguson who celebrates his 79th Birthday Today.

Born in 1941 in Scotland,Sir Alex would go on to become a player and then a manager in Scotland. After managing 8 Years at Scottish Club Aberdeen, he joined Manchester United in 1986 and the rest is history.

He would go on to manage Manchester United for 26 years and win 38 major honours including 13 Premier League Titles,5 FA Cups and 2 UEFA Champions League.

His most successful season for the club though came in 1999 when Manchester United won the Treble by Winning the League,FA Cup and beating Bayern Munchen in the Champions League final after being down 1-0 in the 90th minute.

When the time he joined Manchester United in 1986, the Glory days were long gone for United and English Football at that time was dominated by Liverpool their greatest rivals. In an interview in 2002 when United lost twice in the opening seven games and won only three he said "My Greatest Challenge is not what's happening at the moment. My greatest challenge was knocking Liverpool right off their f*cking perch. And you can print that."

And Yes he did delivered it after 9 years of that interview. With Manchester United winning the 2010-11 Premier League Season, they overtook Liverpool at 19 League Titles to become the most successful club in English Football.

He guided United to the 2009 and 2011 UEFA Champions League Final as well but lost on both occasions against Pep Guardiola's Barcelona. Having missed out the title in 2011-12 by GOAL DIFFERENCE to the "noisy neighbors"(a term which he coined for Manchester City), Ferguson would end his tenure at United with another league title in 2012-13 season.

Since then Manchester United have not won a league title and with Liverpool's resurgence and Manchester City's dominace in recent years,It won't be wrong to say that Sir Alex and Manchester United were made for each other.
