On Wednesday the Maharashtra Government announced that the lockdown in the state will be extended to 31st January in the view of COVID-19. Almost all the restrictions that were placed in March,2020 have been lifted but there are still curbs in some areas. The Activities that are allowed will remain open.
Those areas include Reopening of Private and Government offices,Schools and Colleges, Swimming Pools. Local trains in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region are yet to be open for all commuters.
For the past two months, Maharashtra have been showing good signs of slowing down of the widespread of the virus with low cases. For the past 25 days, the state has been witnessing less than 5,000 cases a day. As of Wednesday, the case tally in the state stands at 19,25,066 cases with around 49,373 deaths.
