On Saturday Night, the United Kingdom announced a suprise lockdown following the rapid surge in cases of COVID-19. It has now been discovered that a new strain of the Sars-CoV-2 virus has been found which causes COVID-19.
The new strain is 70% more infectious than other strains of the virus and around 60% of the cases in Captial of England, London is caused by it says UK Health Experts.
The Question now Arrives, is the mutation more deadly?
So far this no evidence to suggest that and the widespread of it is still being monitored. However if the transmission rate increases, then it would become a big problems for the Hospitals.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson later announcement that a strict lockdown will be imposed to control the spread of the virus.
"It is heavy heart that I must tell you that we cannot continue with Christmas as planned." He added " I Sincerely believe there is no alternative open for me."
London and Southeast England which were under the Tier 3 of system and rules will now be placed under Tier 4. Those in Tier 4 will not be allowed to mix and meet with other people till the lockdown is over.
As soon as the news broke, several Countries including India restricted travels to the UK temporarily.
