Bayern lose to second tier Kiel in Second Round of the German Cup

The Footballing World were left in shock when Treble Winning Bayern Munich were knocked out of the DFB Pokal Cup in the second round by second tier Holstein Kiel on Penalties (6-5) after they game finished 2-2 after 120 Minutes.

The Champions started off strong and took the lead in the 14th minute through Serge Gnabry. A misinterception allowed the Forward to smash it in from 6 yards out. Though the goal was offside but due to no VAR available, the goal stood and Bayern lead.

After Gnabry missed out a chance from 5 yards out in the 37th minute, the host levelled it up from Fin Bartels. He took few touches to stable himself before smashing in a shot in the bottom corner from 20 yards out.

Bayern won a quick free kick in the second half. Leroy Sane made no mistake from 25 yards out as he smashed in his effort into the top corner to make it 2-1 for Bayern.

2 minutes later another great chance went begging for Kiel after midfielder Alexander Muhling slammed his effort over the bar from 15 yards out.

Bayern were left fuming to there missed chances as Kiel equalised in the 5th minute of injury time. A ball was whipped into the box and Centre Back Hauke Wahl headed it in from close range.

With the scores tied after extra time, it was time for penalties. After 10 successful consecutive penalties(5 from each) Marc Roca's penalty was saved by Keeper Gelios. The moment of Truth came for Fin Bartels and he made no mistake to convert the Penalty and send wide celebrations for the home team as they knocked out the favorites and create a huge upset.
